"own own body own” is a transdisciplinary project connecting visual arts and choreographic thinking, taking the psychological concept 'Body Ownership' as a starting point. Body Ownership comprises two aspects: belongingness and possession. This approach has directly translated into the questions that are the driving motivational force behind the project: Am I a body? Do I have a body? Do I make a body?
Our collaborative process is situated in Medellín (Colombia) and Hamburg (Germany) in the understanding that Body Ownership is shaped by spaces and the experiences connected to them. Our research was guided by studio work, interventions in public spaces, workshops and interviews. Starting in January 2018, it finds its final expression in different formats: Three performances with Colombian and German dancers (September 2018), an exhibition and the release of our publication in Hamburg (June and December 2019).
